What to Expect

Getting the Horse Ready
I highly recommend giving your horse a bath prior to your session. A clean horse will shine and look their best! Clean tack Is also a bonus. Remember, you know your horse best. If they are nervous, perhaps some exercise before their bath will help. What gets their attention? Snacks, noise? I will come with a few Items for that, but each animal Is different.

Saddled or Unsaddled?
It all depends on the impression you want to make. For example, if you are marketing your horse to a certain discipline, I don't recommend using a different type of tack than what they would use. If you wanted to buy a rope horse, would you consider a horse wearing a barrel saddle? Etc, etc. If you do plan on using tack, donโ€™t forget give it a light cleaning as well; enough to look tidy and presentable should be fine.

Location
A clean background Is paramount. Select an open area, with the sun to your back, away from buildings or objects.

Payment
Travel Sessions require a 50% non-refundable deposit in order to secure your date. The remaining 50% of your balance is due the day of your session.

Scheduling
Weather is a consideration for scheduling. If I'm traveling to you, we certainly will do our best with the weather we have. Cancellations and reschedules must be made via email or phone at least 48 hours prior to your session. All deposits are non-refundable, but may be transferred to a future session.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What sets you apart from other equine photographers?

A: With years of training under my belt, I know how to pose and guide clients and their horses to make them feel relaxed while looking their very best. I use natural lighting as often as possible and make sure my sessions relaxed and fun.

Q: How will I receive my images? How long until I receive them?

A: Turnaround time is typically 2-3 weeks from the session date. Expedited services with a 48 hour turnaround time are available for an additional fee (Prior arrangement/notification of rush services is preferred but not required). Digital images are delivered in a private online gallery that will allow you to download the images directly to a mobile device or computer. Online galleries are active for a minimum of 3 months from the day the gallery is sent, after the 3 month period, the gallery will be archived. If the digital images need to be resent at any time after the 3 month period, they can be resent at no additional charge.

Q: Should we have an extra person there or will you have an assistant?

A: Unless I specify that I'm able to bring someone, I highly recommend that you have a helper there the day of our shoot. From tack changes to helping get a horse's ears forward, It Is a great Idea for someone else to also be there.

Q: I'm not sure how best to Implement a social media strategy with the material we got from our session. Can you help me with that?

A: Absolutely. If you need help with a marketing plan, please let me know.

Q: Do you do graphic design for ads/posters/etc?

A: At this time, I do not offer graphic design. I do refer all my clients to several talented graphic designers that are experienced In the Equine Industry.

Q: Will you Photoshop my images?

A: Minor edits will be made to all of your images, and I do photoshop out halters, blemishes such as scrapes etc, or items that are distracting in the background. If there are other specific edits you want, please let me know. Additional editing will be charged at $50/hr.
